HOW IT WORKS

Our deep water SeaPod is structurally based on traditional oil rig design.

Oil Rigs have a spar that goes deep into the water which creates a significant amount of buoyancy. In our case this buoyancy pushes our house up several meters above the waves giving you an incredible view for miles in all directions. This also dramatically reduces the movement of the house because the main structure of the house is above the waves making your home stable and smooth.

Below the spar there is a very heavy weight acting as ballast which stabilizes the structure making it super comfortable to live in.

Finally, the SeaPod is anchored at three points to the sea floor.

World’s Top Aquatect

When we first started on this journey we had a desire to create an inspiring new vision of what life on the water can be like. We hired the world’s top architect for floating structures, Koen Olthius, to help us design a revolutionary home with an even more revolutionary living experience.

Koen studied Architecture and Industrial Design at the Delft University of Technology. In 2007, he was included on Time Magazine’s list of most influential people in the world due to the increasing worldwide interest in marine developments. The French magazine Terra Eco selected him in 2011 as one of 100 green persons who will change the world.

Koen has played an instrumental role in bringing our vision to life by merging architecture with art and futuristic design to capture the beauty and simplicity of an incredible lifestyle on the water.
