HOW DOES IT FLOAT?
Just like an iceberg, the hidden magic of a SeaPod lays beneath the surface. You have to look deeper. We use over 1,688 cubic feet of air-filled steel tubes which results in so much buoyancy that it is able to push the entire SeaPod up 3 meters above the water. This results in superior comfort and stability because you are floating above the waves.

INTRODUCING THE ECO RESTORATIVE HOME
When you build a home on land you normally clear cut the trees and replace them with pavement, concrete and bricks. Building a house on land is an environmentally destructive process.
When you build a home on the water you actually create a habitat for ocean life to thrive. SeaPods offer creation and supplementation of natural ecosystems. This means that anytime you put something in the water that makes shade it attracts sea life. It often starts with barnacles and other life starts to grow on the underwater surface of your Pods. This can lead to coral grow and eventually homes for fish. After a process of years this can grow into a thriving underwater ecosystem. Every SeaPod that goes in the water gets us one step closer to restoring a marine ecosystem.

UPGRADE YOUR LIFESTYLE
SeaPods are under continuous development by a decentralized global team that is working on designing upgrades to make Pod life consistently better over time. We have designed Pods to be easily upgradable. There are set locations behind walls where new devices and components can be plugged in like lego pieces for upgraded functionality as technology improves.
The native Pod software can be upgraded remotely and new sensors and automations can be easily hot swapped. The Pod will be like a mobile phone where you can install new “home apps” that are constantly being developed.
We have many exciting upgrades under development which will be released as they become available. And no, you will not need to buy a new home every year to get an upgrade.

Designing a home on the water gave us a chance to rethink every aspect of a home. We wanted the interior walls of a floating home to mimic the natural flow of water and curve seamlessly from one room to another just like water flows and curves.
INVISIBLE BEAUTY
We think the home of the future will be elegant, simple, and clean. To achieve this we decided to hide the lightbulbs, light switches, and power outlets by building them into the design of the house so that they are invisible yet always right where you need them.
There are hidden high efficiency LED light strips in a groove on the floor and ceiling so that your home comes to life with the gentle glow of indirect lighting.
You can choose between daytime white (blue tone) and nighttime white (yellow tone) or up to 64 million color hues to customize the mood of each room. Advanced lighting effects and animations are also possible.
KITCHEN WITH A VIEW
You will have endless inspiration to create fantastic meals for friends and family with the inspiring views you will have from your kitchen floating more than 10 feet over the water. This kitchen gives you everything you ever wanted in a kitchen with views so good you wonder how you lived without it for so long.
PANORAMIC WINDOWS
One of the stand out features of SeaPods is their massive panoramic windows.
Engineering these has been a huge challenge. Making them is an even bigger challenge that took 18 months of searching to find the right source of materials, processes, expertise, and suppliers.
All windows have a special UV tint on them to help reduce interior heating and to give you privacy. From the outside they will have a mirror-like finish. When viewed from the inside looking out you will have a bluish tint. UV tinted windows is essential for living on the ocean with sunlight reflecting inside your Pod from both the sun and the sea.
THE BATHROOM EXPERIENCE
Having a first class bathroom experience has always been one of the most important elements of building a floating home.
WASTE TREATMENT
We are developing a solid waste incinerator that will turn toilet waste into a tablespoon of harmless non-toxic ash. Waste heat from incineration will be used to make hot water for showers, baths, and sinks. Liquids from the toilets will go to a blackwater storage tank for further treatment or periodic removal. A waterless urinal will also be offered to further reduce unnecessary water usage.
ENDLESS SHOWER
One of the most wasteful things in any home is the shower.
On floating homes we have the additional challenge of having to periodically empty grey water tanks from water used in the shower and other places onboard.
We also recommend using a Nebia shower head. The Nebia shower head creates micro fine streams of water which give you a higher pressure shower than normal and it helps to reduce water consumption by 60%. The microfine spray also covers your skin better resulting in a cleaner feeling and better heat transference.
Now you never need to feel guilty for indulging in a long relaxing shower.
BATH SPA UPGRADES
Reset, relax and refresh in a floating bath spa. Your Pod experience can be upgraded to include shower massage jets, a massive 850 liter bathtub with underwater massage jets with multicolor overhead LED lights and underwater LED mood lighting.

SMART RING
Unlock advanced smart home functionality with a wearable smart ring. The rings can unlock your front door, automagically configure any compatible Pod to your preset preferences, activate the shower or bath to your custom preset temperature and pressure, turn on your favorite music or playlist, configure custom light scenes, and more.
Each ring is securely provisioned to just one owner so no one else can access your home. Ring copies can’t be made without your authorization.
WATER AUTONOMY
We are constantly hearing about the global rise in water shortages in major cities, water rationing, crop failure because of extreme drought, and increasing pollution in the worlds fresh water resources.
Ocean Builders core philosophy is to build homes that are as autonomous as possible and water is one of the most important elements of autonomy.
Water autonomy is not just about having water available but by using the water you have more efficiently and purifying it so it is of the highest quality possible without toxins that often find their way into city water supplies.
SeaPods make fresh water by desalinating salt water.
SeaPods intelligently recycle water to reduce water by up to 90%. This effectively stretches one gallon into ten gallons.
HOME AWAY FROM EMF
A growing number of people are reporting that they are sensitive to Electromagnetic Frequencies (EMF) which can come from high density of cell towers, cell phones, wifi networks, and more.
When we set out to design the smartest home on planet ocean, we wanted to make it comfortable even for residents and visitors that are sensitive to EMF’s.
Having a home on the water automatically removes you from the high density of EMF radiation of city life.
Modern smart homes use radio frequencies to connect to dozens or hundreds of smart devices. We have designed a unique smart home system without using radio waves. All the smart home sensors and devices are wired with special EMF shielding wires to bring potentially harmful radio waves to a minimum. The only wireless in the Pod is internet WiFi which you can set to automatically shut down throughout the house at a specified time each day. Each room is also wired with ethernet cables if you prefer to bypass WiFi entirely.

Create magical scenes on the exterior of your Pod with up to 60,000 individually controllable LED’s which allow you to create an unlimited array of lighting effects and moods for any occasion.
WATER PATIO
Take full advantage of living the ocean lifestyle with a floating water patio.
This patio floats 1.5 meters above the water to give you incredible views and is the perfect place to relax, meditate, entertain guests, eat dinner, or have a BBQ.
This add-on will instantly increase the usable square footage of your floating house by 20%.
World’s Top Aquatect
When we first started on this journey we had a desire to create an inspiring new vision of what life on the water can be like. We hired the world’s top architect for floating structures, Koen Olthuis, to help us design a revolutionary home with an even more revolutionary living experience.
Koen studied Architecture and Industrial Design at the Delft University of Technology. In 2007, he was included on Time Magazine’s list of most influential people in the world due to the increasing worldwide interest in marine developments. The French magazine Terra Eco selected him in 2011 as one of 100 green persons who will change the world.
Koen and his team at Waterstudio has played an instrumental role in bringing our vision to life by merging architecture with art and futuristic design to capture the beauty and simplicity of an incredible lifestyle on the water.
