To celebrate Day 60 of Rudy’s incredible underwater challenge, we hosted two remarkable guests live from the underwater room. Their expertise in cutting-edge technology, neuroscience, and transhumanism made this milestone even more special.
Our first guest was Christian Klaes, a Professor of Neurotechnology at Ruhr University Bochum. Christian’s research explores brain-computer interfaces, Virtual Reality, and medical AI, offering groundbreaking insights into how humans interact with technology. With experience as a postdoc at Caltech from 2011–2016, he has delivered thought-provoking talks on transhumanism, virtual bodies, and society’s evolving relationship with innovation.
Joining Christian was Torsten Nahm, Head of Data Science at DBK, one of Germany’s leading banks, where he leads AI development. Torsten is a trailblazer in the field, co-founding the German Society for Transhumanism in 1998 and serving as a founder and board member of the European Biostasis Foundation, a cryonics research facility based in Switzerland.
Together, Christian and Torsten shared visionary perspectives on how technology is shaping our world, aligning perfectly with Rudy’s mission to push boundaries and explore the future of innovation.

Democracies that promote entrepreneurship may thrive, while centralized control risks stifling innovation or misusing power. Striking the right balance between regulation and freedom will be critical to ensure that AI benefits all of humanity without exacerbating inequalities.
