Our mission has always been to innovate and create sustainable solutions that allow people to live harmoniously with nature. One of our key developments in this mission is our Rainwater Filtration System, which takes a vital resource — rainwater — and transforms it into clean, drinkable water using cutting-edge technology.
Here’s an update on our progress and a closer look at how this system works.
The Importance of Rainwater Filtration for Sustainable Living
In eco-living communities, particularly those focused on wellness and sustainability, having access to clean, naturally sourced water is essential. By harvesting and filtering rainwater, we can reduce reliance on traditional water sources, minimize waste, and provide a healthier, eco-friendly water solution for our floating homes.
Our Rainwater Filtration System is designed to capture rainwater, purify it through a multi-stage filtration process, and ensure it’s safe and refreshing to drink — all while being monitored and controlled through the Ocean Builders Controller.
Step-by-Step Guide to Our Rainwater Filtration Process
The process begins in the rainwater tunnel, where collected rainwater is stored. This water, initially containing 414 parts per million (ppm) of impurities, such as minerals and pollutants, goes through a comprehensive filtration journey to ensure it meets the highest quality standards.
1. Sediment Filter
The first stage is the sediment filter, which removes large particles such as dirt and debris from the water. This ensures that the following filters can work more efficiently.
2. Granular and Activated Carbon Filters
Next, the water passes through granular carbon and activated carbon filters. These filters remove contaminants such as chlorine, chemicals, and unpleasant odors, improving the water’s taste and overall quality.
3. Reverse Osmosis Membrane
The heart of the system is the reverse osmosis membrane, which removes dissolved impurities and particles at a microscopic level. This stage significantly reduces the water’s ppm, making it much cleaner and safer to drink.
4. Mineralization and Alkaline Filter
After purification, the water flows through a mineralization filter, which adds essential minerals back into the water and makes it more alkaline. This is a crucial step for wellness enthusiasts who value the health benefits of alkaline water.
5. UV Filter
The final filtration stage is the UV filter, which kills any remaining bacteria or pathogens, ensuring the water is completely safe for consumption.
Smart Control with the Ocean Builders Controller
A standout feature of our Rainwater Filtration System is the Ocean Builders Controller, which monitors and manages the entire process. Here’s what it does:
- Pressure Monitoring: The controller measures the pressure within the reverse osmosis membrane to ensure the system operates efficiently.
- Water Quality Sensor: The system continuously monitors the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) to ensure the water remains at a high-quality standard, typically around 70 ppm after filtration.
- Automation & Safety: The controller is equipped with level sensors that prevent the pump from running if the rainwater tank is empty, protecting the system from damage.
- Manual Controls: Users can manually turn the system on or off through a switch if needed. The system automatically shuts off to conserve energy and resources.
This smart automation ensures that residents have access to fresh, clean water around the clock without any manual intervention.
We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made on our Rainwater Filtration System, but this is just the beginning. Our team continues to refine the technology to make it even more efficient, ensuring that it can meet the demands of future SeaPod residents.
