One question we often get from people is about privacy on the sea. With windows surrounding the entire house, it might seem like there’s no privacy at all.
However, we’ve implemented several features to ensure you can enjoy your space without feeling exposed.
Elevated Design
The elevated design of the SeaPod significantly enhances privacy by positioning the living space well above water level, making it nearly impossible for anyone to look in. Unlike traditional boats, which sit at the water’s surface and are easily accessible, the SeaPod is raised about three meters above the water line, with its railing around six meters up.
This elevation means that even when boats pass by, occupants can enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean without worrying about prying eyes. The height creates a natural barrier, ensuring a secluded and private environment where residents can fully relax and enjoy their unique oceanfront living experience.
Natural Seclusion and Tourist Activity
One of the great things about the SeaPod’s location is the natural seclusion. The closest house is about a kilometer away. However, we do get tourist boats, especially on weekends and holidays. Tourists are often curious and excited to see the SeaPod, so they come by frequently.
During these times, you might lower the blinds for more privacy, but many people enjoy interacting with the tourists. It’s a unique experience, where people come by, take pictures, and wave. I usually wave back, which I think is cool.
Remote-Controlled Blinds for Versatile Privacy
We have remote-controlled blinds that you can also upgrade to voice control for even more convenience. There are two types of blinds available:
1. Privacy Blinds: These blinds let some sunlight in while still providing privacy. You can enjoy the beautiful view outside without worrying about people looking in.
2. Blackout Blinds: These provide total privacy. When these blinds are down, no one can see inside at all. They block out light, colors, and any movement, ensuring complete seclusion.
Window Coating for Day and Night Privacy
Even with the blinds open, the windows have a special coating that provides a mirror effect. This means you can see out perfectly, but it’s hard for people to see in. At night, when the lights are on inside, visibility from the outside increases, but we rarely have any traffic in the water after dark.
