Preparing to raise the walls of the underwater room

Less than 1 minuteReading TIme: Minutes

Another heavy lifting day at Ocean Builder’s factory as Grant is witnessing the handling of the first underwater room steel wall.

To prepare for raising the wall of this innovative part of the SeaPod, we are using our best tool ever, the telehandler.
It’s a delicate operation for which we definitely need it because the steel wall literally weighs a ton. Thus, no need to say that we better stay clear of the operation so that we stay safe and that the operator and workers have all the room they need to work.

We’ve marked the exact place where the wall is going to be welded on. On the external part of this floor will be installed our 3D printed coral habitat.

Our goal is to be eco-restorative as much as possible and since coral reefs are sort of like the Amazon of the sea, we knew it was going to be important to us to do our part in restoring them.
These 3D printed habitats on the bottom of the SeaPod TriPod bases to encourage coral growth directly below the SeaPod.
